Popular Ollywood singer Humane Sagar came under police scanner on Friday after a musician named Japani accused the former of giving him death threats.

According to a complaint filed by Japani with Kharavel Nagar Police, Japani requested Sagar to sing a few bhajans for him. Sagar, on the other hand, had been rejecting Japani’s offer for the last five years. Frustrated over Japani’s repeated requests, one of Humane Sagar’s acquaintances rang singer Tapu to vent out his anger and said he would kill Japani when he comes to Cuttack.

Speaking to reporters, Tapu said, “I got a call from Humane Sagar’s associate and he shouted like anything taking Japani’s name. The caller also threatened to kill Japani if he finds him in Cuttack. He issued these threatenings just because Japani Bhai asked him to render his voice for bhajans which is unsuitable for a singer of Sagar’s repute.”

The complainant, Japani said, “I have approached Humane Sagar several times to sing Jagannath bhajans. For last five years I have been requesting him for the same but he never said yes to me. Mohammed Aziz, Sikandar Alam have sung Jagannath bhajans.“

“Babulu, owner of Sagar Sangam troupe for which Humane Sagar sang in the past, called my friend Tapu and threatened that they would kill me if they find me in Cuttack,” Japani alleged.

Humane Sagar was not available for comments on it.
