Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday inaugurated two state-of-the-art bus depots at Patia and Bhagwanpur respectively in Bhubaneswar.

While Patnaik launched the Patia depot in person, the Bhagwanpur depot was inaugurated by him remotely over video conferencing.

As per reports, the Patia depot houses a workshop, parking space for 120 busses, a filling station and an advanced service station for the vehicles. While the Patia depot has come up on 18935 Square Metres area, the Bhagwanpur depot has an area of 22411 square meters. It has an automated cleaning system to wash busses after every trip.

Later, Patnaik went to the headquarters of the Odisha State Regional Transport Corporation (OSRTC) at AG square in Bhubaneswar and flagged off 110 sophisticated new busses.

The busses have been equipped with all necessary amenities for a pleasant experience of the commuters. From comfortable seats to CCTV cameras for safety and vehicle tracking system, these busses sport all the safety aspects mandated by the Central government.

These vehicles will ply on inter-state routes as well.

It is pertinent to mention here that the OSRTC currently has a fleet of 398 busses plying in 43 routes across 28 districts of Odisha connecting Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
