A team of the central agency from Delhi carried out simultaneous raids on property linked to Mishra in connection with alleged bribery case of over Rs 25 lakh involving a senior official of Paradip port and a contractor.

Mishra's residence at Odia Bazar in Cuttack and Orissa Stevedores Limited (OSL) offices at Link Road and Badapadi in Paradip were raided.

Questioning of the Chief Mechanical Engineer of Paradip port Saroj Das and contractor Sumant Rout is currently underway at a guest house in Paradip.

As per reports, the CBI team is investing the reason behind the bribery and the middle man involved in the incident.

The CBI team reportedly checked some documents at Mishra’s Cuttack office and also questioned him in this regard.

As per reports, the senior official of Paradip port had accepted the bribe from the contractor. The CBI is conducting the raid to trace if there is any link between the contractor and Mishra.

Earlier in 2016, Mishra was arrested from Thailand for allegedly masterminding the murder of Mahendra Swain, the General Manager of Hyderabad-based stevedoring company Seaways Shipping and Logistics Limited (SSLL) in Paradip. He was later granted bail by Orissa High Court in 2019.
