Bus catches fire after mishap near Baramunda in Bhubaneswar, no casualties

Passengers on board a private bus had a providential escape after the vehicle caught fire following a collision with a culvert near Baramunda bus stand in Bhubaneswar on Monday. 

The mishap occurred in the wee hours on the service road beneath Baramunda overbridge when the speeding bus was en route to the city from Berhampur in Ganjam district.

All passengers were immediately deboarded from the vehicle and thus a major mishap was averted. A team of fire service deployed at the mishap site brought the blaze under control.     

However, the exact reason behind the fire outbreak is still not clear. RTO and police officials have launched a probe into the cause and circumstances that led to the accident and consequent fire mishap. 

As per reports, two passengers along with the driver and conductor have been admitted at Capital Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
