Speaking to OTV, Kusalkar said, "After reports were out in media regarding the seizure of money, we sent the Additional SP for investigation on Friday. His report is yet to come, but there seem to be irregularities in the seizure."

"We are now waiting for the final report for further action. Certainly, there are some irregularities in the seizure amount but we can provide details in this matter only after submission of a report by the Additional SP," said the SP.

On action that might be taken against those involved in the irregularities, he said, "There is a due process of law. Every loose end will be investigated before submission of the final report to our higher authorities. And then, appropriate action will be taken."

On Friday, a team of Kantabanji police conducted a raid at Annapurna lodge at Parshuram Chowk of the town on gambling suspicion only to unearth a huge amount of cash stashed in a container.
