The mortal remains of an Odia youth, who died in Bangladesh, arrived at his native village Nandol under Salepur Tehsil of Cuttack district last night following the intervention of BJP national vice-president Baijayant Panda.

As per reports, the youth, identified as Pitambar Sahoo, was working at a private company in Shahjahanpur of Dhaka in Bangladesh when he died on December 11 of unknown causes.

“After two days, we received news of his death. We don't know the exact cause of his death as yet, but we were later told that he died of a heart stroke.” said Pitambara’s mother Sulochana Sahoo.

His Family then informed the former MP from Kendrapara Jay Panda, seeking his help to transport the body from the foreign land.

Panda took the initiative in this regard and the body was transported to the native village of Sahoo on Wednesday night.

"His body could reach the village because of the actions of Jay panda, some of Sahoo’s colleagues, and locals." one of Sahoo’s relatives, Rohita Sahu said.

He further appealed to both the State and Central government to provide some financial aid to the bereaved family.

Sahoo’s last rites were performed late in night with the help of his family members and villagers.
