An all-party prayer meet to mourn the demise of senior BJP leader Bijay Pradhan was held at Mahakalpara in Kendrapara district on Sunday.

Among others, BJP's National Vice-President Baijayant  Panda attended the meeting to pay his respect and homage to the departed soul.

Terming the leader as an uncrowned king, Panda said, "Today, a large number of people turned up at the meeting to pay their homage to the late leader. The huge gathering is a testimony to his popularity."

"He proved it that losing or winning elections doesn't matter. What matters is to be with people through their thick and thin even when one is not in power," added Panda.

"His dreams wouldn't be left unfulfilled and his memories wouldn't be let fade away. We all will work together to fulfill his unfulfilled wishes," Panda further added.

Kendrapara district BJP President Kishore Panda, former president of Khadi Board Tejeswar Parida, Bishnu Das, Salim Khan, intellectuals, advocates and social activists attended the condolence meeting.

Notably, the senior saffron party leader breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Capital hospital in Bhubaneswar on May 3. He was 70. He was admitted to the hospital following a cardiac arrest.
