Bhubaneswar sees one more student suicide death

Amid back-to-back suicide death cases of students reported in Bhubaneswar, an engineering student has now reportedly ended her life on Wednesday. The incident was reported from Railway Colony in Chandrasekharpur area.

According to sources, RN Niyati Nayak (24), the victim had completed her B Tech programme from Burla in Sambalpur. Her father works as a Signal Section Engineer and her mother a doctor.

Even though the exact reason behind the extreme step taken by Niyati has not been ascertained, it is suspected that family dispute was the reason behind it. It is believed that she ended her life while the entire family was out visiting hospital as her sister too was unwell.

Meanwhile, Chandrasekharpur Police has launched a probe into the case. The autopsy of the victim is likely to be conducted today.

A few days ago, a nursing student allegedly hanged herself to death inside her hostel room in Airfield police limits area in Bhubaneswar late Sunday evening.

In another case, a software engineer Sweta Kumari allegedly hanged herself to death at her apartment after being ‘betrayed’ by her boyfriend Soumyajeet.

Similarly, a married woman identified as Subhashree Mohapatra allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself inside her house in Shastri Nagar locality of Bhubaneswar
