The flyover on National Highway 16 at Khandagiri in Bhubaneswar will remain shut for the public for a period of 15 days, the Commissionerate Police announced in a press release on Saturday.

The RHS (Bhubaneswar-Khordha) of the Khandagiri flyover will remain off the limits for commuters for the period from May 22, 2022, to June 5, 2022.

All vehicles intending to go towards Khordha from Bhubaneswar shall not avail the RHS flyover of Khandagiri. Instead, they will be diverted through the service road on RHS, the notice by the Twin City Police said. 

As per the notice, the traffic diversion plan on the flyover has been implemented in order to facilitate the maintenance works of the Main carriageway of the flyover as requested by the GM Tech and Project Director, PIU, NHAI Dhenkanal for the benefit of commuters. 

There is a need for diversion of the vehicles for free flow of traffic at the aforementioned road on the NH-16 and the approaching roads for safety and security of commuters as per the feasibility report submitted by ACP Traffic, Bhubaneswar, the press release stated.
