Cracking Odisha Judicial Services (OJS) is a lifelong dream for many law students, but a few manage to realise the dream. Beating all the odds, daughter of a snack seller has cracked OJS and bagged 14th position.  

Hailing from Baripada of Mayurbhanj district, Anushree resides at a small asbestos house. Her father Nagendra Jena used to sell snacks on a cart on Baripada streets for years before getting paralysis attack a couple of years ago. 

The OJS result has brought rewards for Nagendra’s lifetime struggle. His happiness knew no bounds after coming to know OJS result of Anushree.  

According to sources, Anushree was a scholar student from the very beginning of her student life. Like morning shows the day, she showcased her talent in academics both in school and college. 

She even topped in law and bagged gold medal. Her quest for success despite poverty made her overcome all the obstacles and script the success story.

Currently working as a public prosecutor at Additional District Judicial Magistrate (ADJM) Court in Baripada, Anushree has also made her in-laws proud of her.

Following her success, wishes from family, friends and relatives kept pouring in for her like anything. Her father has not stopped shedding tears of happiness since then.

Recollecting her struggling days, Anushree said, “My father had never made me feel any kind of crisis. Despite running a snack centre, he left no stone unturned to educate all of his children. We are six sisters. He has always encouraged me to work hard to reach the pinnacle of success. Without him, I could not think of clearing OJS.”

Attributing her success to her parents and teachers, she said, “My family proud is of me. That’s why I am really happy.”

“Being a public prosecutor for the last five years, I have realised that it’s not easy to deliver justice. As I have become a judge now, I will try my best to give justice to whoever deserves it. All I want to work honestly, fearlessly and impartially to give justice to the needy,” maintained Anushree.

His father with tears rolling down his cheeks said, “All my hard work paid off as she cracked OJS with flying colours.”
