Another Tiger Cub Dies At Nandankanan Zoo

Another cub born to white tigress Rupa died at Nandankanan Zoological Park (NZP) on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, the zoo authorities said on Thursday.  

On Tuesday, Bibek, a male cub born to the white tigress had died of illness. Rupa had abandoned the three cubs after their birth on March 11.  

The cubs were being hand-reared after being abandoned by their mother. 

The NZP authorities informed that the cub who died today was under treatment since last three days for fever and dullness. 

“One of the hand-rearing cubs of Rupa died today.  It was under treatment since last 3 days for fever and dullness,” the zoo authorities said. 

At present, the tiger population at the zoo stands at 26.
