In yet another incident of man-animal conflict, three persons were killed and two others injured after a wild bear attacked them at Samarsingh village under Lakhna police limits in Nuapada district on Friday.

Following the horrifying incident, the villagers got angry and killed the animal.

While the identities of the deceased are yet to be ascertain, it was learnt that they had gone to their farmlands in the morning and didn’t return till evening.

Then the villagers launched a search operation. During the operation, the wild animal attacked them, injuring two others.

This irked the villagers who in turn attacked the bear, leading to its death.
