At least four persons, including two minor sisters, were killed in two separate incidents in Odisha on Sunday.

Two sisters were drowned in a nullah at Janarabarimul village under Sadar Police limits in Kendrapara district on Sunday. One of them was three years old while the other sibling was two years old.

The incident occurred when Subhasmita Mallick and her younger sister Madhusmita, daughter of Bipin Mallick, were collecting miniature boats in the nullah that were floated by devotees on the occasion of Kartik Purnima on Friday.

When the duo did not return home after a long time, their family members started searching for them but failed to trace their whereabouts. Later, some villagers noticed the sister duo's bodies in the nullah and informed their family members and the local police station.

Police recovered the bodies and sent them to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) for post-mortem. An unnatural death case in connection with the incident has been registered by the police.

In Mayurbhanj, a person died after being stung by bees at Kharambeda village under Bisoi Police Station on Sunday. The deceased has been identified as Krushna Munda.

Munda was working in his farmland when he was attacked by a swarm of bees. Some locals spotted him and took him to the nearby Kharambeda hospital after driving the bees away. However, Munda died while undergoing treatment at the hospital. His body was later sent for post-mortem.
