As many as 393 children in the State are homeless and are living on the streets, informed Women and Child Development Minister Basanti Hembram on Saturday.
Hembram stated this in a written reply to a query by BJD MLA Prafulla Samal in the Odisha Assembly.
“Khordha district had the highest number of homeless children. Out of the 393 children, at least 305 children are from Khordha district while the remaining 30 are from Jajpur district,” Hembram stated in her reply.
The State Government have adopted various measures with the involvement of local machinery for the rehabilitation of such children, Hembram added.
