The Orissa High Court got three new judges with President Ram Nath Kovind appointing V Narasingh, Biraja Prasanna Satapathy and Murahari Sri Raman as the judges to the HC in order of seniority. 

The appointments of the new judges will be effective from the date they assume charge of their respective offices, said a notification issued by the Ministry of Law & Justice Department of Justice (Appointments Division) today.  

"In exercise of the power conferred by clause (1) of Article 217 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri (1) V. Narasingh, (2) Biraja Prasanna Satapathy and (3) Murahari Sri Raman, to be Judges of the Orissa High Court, in that order of seniority, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices," the notification read. 

The President today appointed a total of 17 judges in High Courts of Madhya Pradesh, Madras, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh. While Andhra Pradesh High Court got seven judges, Madhya Pradesh High Court got six judges. Similarly, three judges have been appointed to the Orissa High Court. Moreover, Madras HC acting Chief Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari has been made the Chief Justice.
