The body of a two-year-old boy, Soumya Bhoi, who had been reportedly missing since Monday, was found in a small canal at Mangalpur in Jagatsinghpur district on Wednesday.

As per reports, Soumya, son of Kanheyalal Bhoi, had gone to his uncle’s house with his mother on Monday. The child reportedly went missing in the afternoon while he was playing near the house.

His parents and other members of his family started looking out for him in the vicinity of the house in a desperate bid to trace him. When they could not find him, they filed a missing report at the Biridi police station. Subsequently the police launched a hunt for the missing boy.

After two days of search, the body of the toddler was found in a canal near his uncle’s house today.

Meanwhile, the family members of the minor boy are suspecting that the child had been murdered and later the body was dumped in the canal.
