President Droupadi Murmu is all set for her 2 day visit to Odisha starting November 10. During her first visit to the state after assuming office of the highest constitutional post in the country, she will visit the Srimandir at Puri and offer prayers to Lord Jagannath.

In view of the significant event, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration is also gearing up to welcome the First citizen of India.

According to sources, Murmu is scheduled to visit the 12th century shrine between 12 and 1 pm soon after she arrives in Odisha.

For security reasons the temple will close for darshan of general public from 10:30 AM onwards.

Meanwhile, the Suara and Mahasuara Niyog of the temple have requested the administration to make arrangements for the President to partake the holy Mahaprasad at the shrine.

The servitors have called upon the authorities to make arrangements at the Ananda Bazar inside the temple premises for the President's lunch. According to the Suara Niyog, Droupadi Murmu is an Odia and she might be very much aware of the importance of partaking the holy Mahaprasad at Ananda Bazar in the temple.

The Suara and Mahasuara Niyog Secretary Narayan Mahasuara said “From the ‘Sakala Dhupa’ onwards many dishes will be prepared and will be ready. If the President desires to have Mahaprasad in the Ananda Bazar, it will set an example of the Odia culture."
