The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has published a notification for conducting Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2024.
Candidates are required to apply online only by using the website https//www.upsconline.nic.in.
The application process has already commenced and the last date to apply is April 30, 2024.
Applicants have the opportunity to make edits to their applications between May 1 and May 7, 2024.
The commission is likely to conduct the examination on June 21.

Age Limit
A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on August 1, 2024.
Educational Qualification
Candidates applying for either the Indian Economic Service or the Indian Statistical Service must fulfill certain educational criteria. For the Indian Economic Service, a candidate must possess a Post-Graduate Degree in Economics, Applied Economics, Business Economics, or Econometrics from a university recognized by an Act of the Central or State Legislature in India, or other educational institutes established by an Act of Parliament or deemed as a university under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956. Alternatively, degrees from foreign universities approved by the Central Government are also accepted.
Similarly, for the Indian Statistical Service, candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree with Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, or Applied Statistics as one of the subjects, or possess a Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematical Statistics, or Applied Statistics from a recognized university in India or abroad, as per the aforementioned criteria.
Application Fee
Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST/Persons with Benchmark Disability Candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay fee of Rs 200 either by remitting the money in any Branch of State Bank of India or by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using Internet Banking of any Bank.
