UPSC invites applications for CDS I Exam 2025: Apply for 457 vacancies; check details

UPSC has opened applications for the CDS I Exam 2025, offering 457 vacancies. Candidates must apply by December 31, 2024, via upsc.gov.in.

UPSC Recruitment

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released an official notification inviting applications for the Combined Defence Services, CDS I Exam 2025 for non-technical course. 

Interested candidates can apply on the official website of UPSC, http://upsconline.gov.in. The last date for submitting online application is  December 31, 2024, 06:00 PM. 

The correction window to make changes to the application will be valid for seven days starting from January 1 to 7, 2024.

Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai (Madras) 123rd SSC (Men) (NT) (UPSC) Course Commencing in April, 2026: 275 Posts

Officers Training Academy, Chennai (Madras) 37th SSC Women (NT) (UPSC) Course commencing in April, 2026: 18 Posts

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

Indian Military Academy (I.M.A.) and Officers' Training Academy, Chennai: A degree from a recognized university or its equivalent is required.

Indian Naval Academy: Candidates must hold an engineering degree from a recognized university or institution.

Air Force Academy: A recognized university degree with Physics and Mathematics at the 10+2 level or a Bachelor of Engineering degree is mandatory.

Candidates holding professional and technical qualifications recognized by the government as equivalent to professional or technical degrees are also eligible to appear for the examination.

Age Limit

The age limit to apply for the examination is between 20 to 24 years. The candidates should not have been born before January 2, 2002 and not later than January 1, 2006. The upper age limit relaxation will be followed as per govt of India rules. However, the age limit is varied for some courses, candidates can refer to the official notification for more details.

Examination Format

The competitive examination consists of two stages. The first stage is a written examination, and the second stage involves an interview for intelligence and personality assessment conducted at designated Services Selection Centres.

For admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, and Air Force Academy, the written examination includes three subjects: English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics. Each subject is of 2 hours duration and carries a maximum of 100 marks.

For admission to the Officers’ Training Academy, the written examination includes two subjects: English and General Knowledge. Each subject is of 2 hours duration and carries a maximum of 100 marks.

Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay an amount of Rs 200 as the intimation fee. However, Female/SC/ST aspirants are exempted from paying any fee. The application fee can be paid at any SBI branch by cash or can be paid online.
