UPSC Civil Services Mains 2025: Exam schedule, admit card released, check details

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will commence the Civil Services Mains Examination 2025 from August 22. The examination will open with the Essay paper and conclude on August 31 with the Optional Subject (Paper 2).

Exam Schedule

The Mains examination will be conducted in two shifts each day:

Shift 1: 9 a.m. to 12 noon

Shift 2: 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

According to the official schedule, papers will be held on August 22, 23, 24, 30, and 31, 2025.

Admit Card Released

The Commission has already issued the e-admit cards for the Mains examination. Candidates can download them from the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.

• Enter login details and submit

• Download and print the admit card

Eligibility for Mains

Only candidates who cleared the Civil Services Preliminary Examination earlier this year are eligible to appear for the Mains. The Prelims were held in May 2025, and the results were declared in June.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Candidates must carry a printed copy of their admit card along with other prescribed documents to the examination venue. They are also advised to carefully read and follow the instructions mentioned on the admit card to avoid any issues on the examination day.
