UGC NET exam 2024 begins tomorrow: Important instructions and guidelines for candidates

UGC-National Eligibility Test December Exam 2024, of the University Grants Commission (UGC), is to be conducted from January 3, 2025

The test includes 85 subjects and is conducted on January 3, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, and 16, 2025

Candidates may download their respective UGC NET 2024 admit cards available online at ugcnet.nta.ac.in.

Objective of Exam

The UGC-NET December 2024 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for the following purposes:

  • Award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and appointment as Assistant Professor.

  • Appointment as Assistant Professor.

  • Admission to Ph.D. programs.

Admit Card Guidelines

  • Candidates have to download their Admit Card from the NTA website and appear at the examination center, date, shift, time, and subject mentioned on the Admit Card.

  • Entry to the exam center shall not be allowed except during the timings and at the centres specified on the Admit Card.

  • In case the candidate is unable to download the Admit Card, she/he may reach the NTA Help Line from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM, or write an email to NTA for resolving her/his request.

Documents to be carried at the Exam Centre

The candidate needs to carry following documents at the test centre:-

  • Admit card, downloaded on one's desktop using a photocopier set up from NTA website: Passport-sized identical to that posted during the form submission, meant for pasting in the column meant for same purpose on attendance sheet Original as well as the Valid, which does not get expires. - One of a following Aadhar Card PAN card or Driving license as Identity Proof.

  • (PwD) certificate released through some competent authority and for the disabled people relaxation).

Reporting Time and Instructions

  • Candidates should report to the Examination Centre two hours before the examination starts to get frisked and registered.

  • The registration desk will be closed 30 minutes before the exam. Candidates are not allowed to enter after that.

  • Candidates are required to confirm that the question paper appearing on the computer is for the subject that they have chosen as per their Admit Card. In case of any discrepancy, they should report it to the Invigilator immediately.
