With the Odisha government announcing to fill up 7,540 High School teacher posts, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has released the notification for conduct of the Secondary School Teacher Eligibility Test (OSSTET) 2022 (first).

The OSSTET is the mandatory eligibility test that is conducted by the BSE to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as high school teacher in the State. 

As per a notification issued by the BSE, online applications from eligible candidates for appearing in the OSSTET will be received through www.bseodisha.ac.in. The online link will be available from November 14, 2022 till midnight November 23, 2022.

“The payment of fee and submission of forms shall be done through online mode latest by 11.59 pm of 23.11.2022. The step by step instructions for online registration, Guideline, containing applicability, eligibility & qualifying criteria of the candidates, the date for downloading of Admit Cards and date of the examination shall be notified in due course,” the board said.

“Under no circumstances the last date for submission of application forms shall be extended. In case the information furnished by the candidate is found to be false/fake, the candidature/ result of the candidate shall be cancelled and he/she shall be liable for prosecution as per the rule,” the board added. 

The board further said that the information once submitted by the candidate relating to personal details, address, caste, subject etc. during online registration cannot be changed at any later stage. 

Notably, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has directed filling up of vacant posts of teachers in different subjects in government high schools of the State.

As per a statement released by the CMO, the Odisha Staff Selection Commission has been requested to start the process of appointing 7540 high schools at the earliest. Once these posts are filled up, all the teaching posts in all the 4,848 government high schools in the state will be filled up.
