The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released an important notification for candidates who have applied for the ‘Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical & Electrical) Examination, 2023. 

In a notice dated September 18, the commission informed that it has brought amendments to the negative marking rules with respect to the advertisement released on July 26, 2023. 

The official advertisement had earlier stated that there will be negative marking equal to one-third of the marks allotted to the question for each wrong answer in Paper-I & Paper-II.

However, the commission has now amended the rules and said there will be negative marking of (a) 0.25 marks in Paper-I and (b) 1 mark in Paper-II for each wrong answer.

"Other terms and conditions of the Notice of aforesaid examination shall remain unchanged," the notice undersigned by the under secretary of the SSC added. 

It can be mentioned here that the online applications for JE posts were invited from 26.07.2023 to 16.08.2023. The Computer Based Examination (Paper-I) for the recruitment drive is tentatively scheduled in October, 2023.

As many as 1324 vacancies will be filled up under the recruitment drive. 

The selected candidates will be posted in Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted), Non-Ministerial in Level 6 (Rs 35400-112400/-) of pay matrix of 7th Central Pay Commission.
