The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the schedule of the conduct of the skill test for the candidates who have qualified in the Combined Graduate Level Examination (CGLE) 2020.   

"Skill Test for the eligible candidates of CGLE 2020 will be conducted on 04.08.2022 and 05.08.2022 across the country," the Commission said.

The skill test comprises three modules, namely (i) Data Entry Speed Test (DEST), (ii) PowerPoint Presentation/Generation of Slides (MS PowerPoint), and (iii) Spread Sheet (MS Excel). 

Here are some important instructions for the skill test 

For Data Entry Speed Test (DEST), a master text passage of about 2000 key depressions will be given. The duration of this test will be 15 minutes. 
Candidates are advised to type only the words given in the master text passage; a combination of alphanumeric keys followed by space is termed as one "Word". 

Candidates may note: 

The printout of the typed text will not be taken after the Skill Test (Typing Test/DEST). 
Candidates for the English Typing Test/DEST are advised to choose English (US) as their option. 
A demo video for the said Typing Test/DEST has been uploaded on the website of the Commission in the CANDIDATES CORNER for the benefit of the candidates. 
Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) comprises of additional two modules viz. 
PowerPoint Presentation/generation of slides (MS PowerPoint) Spread Sheet (MS Excel) will be administered on MS Office platform (Microsoft Office-2007 and higher versions) and the duration of each module will be 15 minutes.  
These modules will be conducted one after the other. 

After completion of both the modules (MS PowerPoint & MS Excel), printout of the candidate's work will be taken. 
The candidates will have to give the print command and after getting printouts for PowerPoint presentation and Spread Sheet, they will also write their roll number, name, exam date and put their signature on each page. 
Candidates are advised to familiarise themselves with Microsoft Office - 2007 and above. 

"Candidates, who are exempted from this examination, should refer to the detailed guidelines issued by the respective regional office website," the SSC said.
