The Shipping Corporation Of India Ltd. (SCI) is currently accepting applications for the positions of Master Mariners and Chief Engineers.

Educational Qualification

Applicants are required to fulfill certain eligibility criteria, which include having a minimum of 3 years of sea time after obtaining Masters FG COC (Certificate of Competency) or MEO Class I COC. Out of this sea time, a mandatory requirement is that candidates must have at least 2 years of experience in the substantive rank of Master or Chief Engineer. It is essential that the Certificate of Competency is issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for candidates applying for these positions is 45 years. However, there are specific age relaxations applicable: 3 years for OBC-NCL (Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer), 5 years for SC/ST (Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes), and 10 years for PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates. 

Application Fee

Candidates are required to submit a non-refundable application fee of Rs 500 (Rupees Five hundred only) if they fall under the General, OBC-NCL, and EWS categories. Additionally, an intimation charge of Rs 100 (Rupees One hundred only) is applicable for SC/ST/PwBD/ExSM candidates.

Pay Scale

The remuneration for the selected candidates will be set at the initial level of the Senior Manager (SM) grade, specifically under the E5 pay scale, which ranges from Rs 80,000 to Rs 2,20,000.
