SAIL announces fresh recruitment: Check details for Attendant-cum-Technician Trainee posts

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) has announced recruitment for the posts of Attendant cum Technician Trainee.

Eligible and interested candidates can apply online through the official website of SAIL at sailcareers.com.

The registration process will commence on November 4 and will end on November 25, 2023.

Total vacancy: 85 posts

• UR Candidates: 35 posts

• SC Candidates: 10 posts

• ST Candidates: 22 posts

• OBC Candidates: 10 posts

• EWS Candidates: 8 posts

Educational Qualification

Candidates for being eligible to apply must have passed Matriculation and have apprenticeship training of minimum one year duration in designated trade from an integrated steel plant and National Apprenticeship Certificate
(NAC) issued by National Council for Vocational Training.

Age Limit

The age of candidates must be below 28 years as on May 1, 2023.

Age Relaxation

Upper age limit can be extended by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC (Non-creamy layer) candidates for posts reserved for them.

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities are eligible for an additional age relaxation of 10 years.

Ex-Servicemen (ESM) with a minimum of 6 months of continuous service in the armed forces can avail age relaxation equal to their military service period plus an additional three years, as per government guidelines, for both reserved and unreserved vacancies.

Selection process

Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria must participate in an examination. Those selected based on their performance in the Online Computer-Based Test (CBT) will receive communication to take the Skill/Trade Test through the SAIL website's careers page. The CBT results will carry a 100% weightage in the selection process, while the Skill/Trade Test will be conducted solely to assess qualifying competence.

Application Fee

General, EWS, and OBC candidates need to pay a total of ₹300, which includes both application and processing fees.

SC, ST, PwBD, ESM, and Departmental candidates are exempt from paying the application fee but are required to pay a ₹100 processing fee.

Pay Scale and Other Benefits

For the position of Attendant cum Technician (Trainee) at the S-1* level, the initial monthly pay is Rs 25,070 - 3% - Rs 35,070. Upon confirmation after two years of training, the overall compensation package will encompass the basic salary, dearness allowance, various benefits including medical coverage for both the employee and their family, provident fund, gratuity, LTC, and more, all in accordance with the company's policies. House Rent Allowance will be provided if company housing is not accessible.
