Southern Railway has issued a notification for the recruitment of candidates against scouts & guides quota for Level 1 and Level 2 posts. 

Interested applicants can submit their applications through the official website of RRC MAS at rrcmas.in.

The registration process begins on January 20 and will end on February 20, 2024.

Qualification

To be eligible for Scouts & Guides Quota, candidates should meet specific qualifications. This includes holding a President's Scout, Guide, Rover, Ranger, or Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) in any section. Additionally, applicants must have actively participated in a Scouts organization for the preceding 5 years, and the provided 'Certificate of Activeness' must adhere to the guidelines outlined in Annexure-I. Furthermore, candidates should have attended two events at the National Level or All Indian Railway's level, along with participating in two events at the State Level to fulfill the eligibility criteria.

Age Limit

As of January 1, 2024, the age criteria for applicants applying to Level '2' positions under the Scouts & Guides Quota are set at a minimum of 18 years and a maximum of 30 years for UR (Unreserved) candidates, 18 to 33 years for OBC (Other Backward Classes), and 18 to 35 years for SC/ST (Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes). For Level '1' positions, the age requirements are defined as 18 to 33 years for UR candidates, 18 to 36 years for OBC, and 18 to 38 years for SC/ST applicants.

Selection Process

The selection procedure includes a written test for both Level 2 and Level 1 positions. The test consists of 40 objective questions and one essay-type question, focusing on the Scouts and Guides organisation, its activities, and General Knowledge.

Application Fee

The application fee for all candidates is Rs 500, and a refund of Rs 400 will be issued to those who meet the eligibility criteria as per the notification and actively participate in the written test/computer-based test, with bank charges deducted. Candidates falling under the SC/ST and other specified categories have a reduced application fee of Rs 250.
