Railway Jobs 2021: Applications Sought For Senior Residents Posts, Check Details

The Southern Railway has released a recruitment notification for the appointment of Senior Residents in the Cardiac Unit of headquarters Railway Hospital, Perambur, Chennai. The appointment will be done to fill three vacancies of senior residents in the unit of the Railway hospital. 

Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the Railway positions by August 9, 2021.

Name of Posts: Sr. Resident in Cardio Thoracic Anaesthesia, Sr. Resident in Cardiology, Sr. Resident in Cardio Thoracic Surgery.

Educational Qualification: Post-Graduate Degree /DM/DNB or Diploma in concerned specialty from university recognized by State/Central government.

"If such candidates are not available in particular speciality, then candidates without PG qualification but having at least three years experience after MBBS out of which one-year junior residency in Government Hospital or MCI recognized private hospitals in the speciality concern can be considered for a period of one year only subject to the condition that fresh selection process has to be done by end of one year," reads the official notification.

Extension for another year will be allowed to these MBBS doctors with three years experience if again no candidate with diploma/PG/DNB/DM applies. The total period of such extension will be limited to three years of total senior residency as in senior residency scheme, it stated.

Age Limit for appointment as Senior Residents:

33 years for those having Post Graduate qualification
35 years for Post-Doctoral Degree holders.

Relaxation of age limit from 33 to 40 years will be considered only if there is no candidate or applicant who satisfy the laid down age limit of 33/35 years

Relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates
Relaxation of 3 years for OBC candidates

Selection Process: Selection of candidates will be done through interviews.

Tenure of Senior Residency:

The contract of appointment of Senior Residence will be one year but the total period Senior Residency can not exceed the maximum period of three years, subject to renewal/extension every year.

The termination of the contract can be done on one month's notice or pay from either side.
