The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has postponed the Assistant Section Officer (ASO) written examination owing to the flood situation and following representations from a large number of aspirants. 

While the aspirants who are preparing for the recruitment examination are eagerly waiting for a formal announcement regarding the fresh date of the examination, OTV has accessed an official document on the tentative date of the much-awaited examination.  

It is learnt that the Commission will tentatively conduct the rescheduled ASO written examination on September 4, 2022 (Sunday). The new date was mentioned in a letter written by OPSC secretary PK Mishra to Collectors of all 30 districts.

In the letter, Mishra requested the Collectors to inform whether the examination centres fixed earlier will remain available on the new date. 

"I am directed to say that in view of severe flood situation prevailing in the State, the Commission have been pleased to postpone the A.S.O. written examination scheduled to be held on 21.08.2022 (Sunday) until further order. The next date and schedule of the examination will be notified shortly," Mishra wrote.

"The dispersal of the Examination material scheduled on 19.08.2022 in respect of Angul, Balasore, Kendrapara, Jajpur, Puri, Nayagarh, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Bhadrak, Dhenkanal and Mayurbhanj has been postponed. They are requested not to depute any officer or vehicles for collection of examination materials on 19.08.2022. The next date of collection of examination materials will be informed shortly," he said.  

"The Commission has also decided to conduct the rescheduled A.S.O. written examination on 04.09.2022 (Sunday) tentatively. You are requested to confirm by 25.08.2022, whether the examination centres fixed for 21.08.2022 will remain available on 04.09.2022 or not for the aforesaid purpose," he added.
