The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has issued a notification inviting applications from eligible candidates for the recruitment of Assistant Professor (Broad Speciality) posts in Group A under Odisha Medical Education Service cadre.

As per the notification, 381 Assistant Professor (Broad Speciality) posts will be filled up. The selected candidates will be posted at various Medical College and Hospitals in Odisha under the Health and Family Welfare Department in the Academic level 12 of ORSP (MCT) Rules, 2019.

The posts are temporary and likely to be made permanent. The registration, registration and payment of examination fees will start from November 22, 2021 and the last date for submission of registered online applications is December 27, 2021.

Age: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above the age of 45 as on first day of January 2021, i.e he/she must have been born not earlier than January 2, 1976. There is reservation as per the prescribed norms.

Educational Qualification: In order to be eligible for direct recruitment, a candidate must fulfil the conditions as mentioned below --

-Have acquired a Post Graduate degree in concerned broad speciality, super speciality or other equivalent degree or qualification prescribed by the MCI, NMC from time to time.

-Where the DM, M.Ch is of two years duration or five years recognised course after MBBS, one year teaching and, or research experience in a recognised institution in the subject of speciality shall be required after obtaining the qualifying degree of DM or M.Ch.

-Those candidates who have undergone Diplomate National Board training in concerned subject are also eligible for the post of Assistant Professor subject to fulfilling of any other critieria regarding Diplomate National Board, prescribed by MCI/NMC from time to time in force.

Method Of Selection: The selection of candidates for direct recruitment to the post of Assistant Professor in Broad Speciality will be made as per the guidelines enumerated in Odisha Medical Education Service (Method of Recruitment and Conditions of Service) Rules 2021, i.e, on the basis of written test from amongst the candidates possessing MD/ MS/DM/ M.Ch degree in the concerned discipline from MCI/NMC recognised Medical College/ Institution.

Written Test Details:

-The written test shall be of 200 marks

-Total number of questions to be 200 with one mark each in Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) pattern

-There shall be negative marking for wrong answers

-For each wrong answer, 0.25 marks shall be deducted from the marks awarded for correct answers

-The qualifying marks in the written examination shall be as decided by the Commission

-Duration of the examination shall be of 3 hours
