The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has issued a notification for the recruitment of Medical Officers (Assistant Surgeon) in Group-A (Junior Branch) of Odisha Medical and Health Services Cadre under the Health and Family Welfare Department.

As per the official notification, 1871 Medical Officers will be recruited in the State under the recruitment drive in the pay scale of Rs 56,100 in Level 12, Cell-1 of Pay Matrix under ORSP Rules, 2017 with usual Dearness and other allowances as may be sanctioned by the Odisha government.

The link for registration/ re-registration and payment of examination fee shall be available from November 12, 2021 to December 13, 2021. The last date for submission of registered online application is December 20, 2021.

Other Details:

Age: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above the age of 32 as on first day of January, 2021 (he/she must have been born not earlier than January 2, 1989 and not later than January 1,2000) The upper age limit shall be relaxed by 5 years for candidates belonging to the categories of Socially & Educationally Backward classes, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Women and eligible ex-Servicemen and ten years for Persons with Disabilities candidates whose permanent disability is 40 per cent and more.

Persons with Disabilities belonging to SC, ST, SEBC categories are eligible for age relaxation benefit of 15 years.

Educational Qualification:

-A candidate must have possessed M.B.B.S or equivalent Degree from a medical college or medical institution recognised by the Medical Council of India.

-A candidate must have possessed a valid registration certificate under the Odisha Medical Registration Act, 1961, provided that, if a candidate outside the State has not registered his name under the Odisha Council of Medical Registration established under Section 3 of Odisha Medical Registration Act, he shall get himself registered as per the provisions of the said Act before issue of the appointment order.

The selection of candidates for recruitment for the posts of Medical Officers shall be on the basis of written test. A candidate is required to pay a non-refundable and non-adjustable fee of Rs 500. Candidates belonging to SC, ST and Persons with Disabilities are exempted from payment of the fee.
