The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has announced the schedule of the Odisha Judicial Services (OJS) preliminary examination 2021 to be conducted for recruitment of civil judges.  

As per the latest notification issued by the Commission, the OJS-2021 preliminary written examination will be held on March 27, 2022.

The preliminary examination will be conducted for a duration of one and a half hours from 10 am to 11.30 am on March 27, 2022 (Sunday). Candidates belonging to the person with disability (PWD) category will be given half an hour extra time (10 am to 12 pm).   

“The centre list & roll numbers tagged to each centre shall be published later. The concerned candidates are advised to visit the website of the Commission (www.opsc.gov.in) regularly for further details,” the Commission said in its notice. 

The preliminary written examination shall be of one paper carrying 100 marks with objective-type questions of multiple-choice (i.e. 100 questions of one mark each with negative marks of twenty-five percent for every wrong answer allotted to that particular question). 

Preliminary Written Examination subjects:  (a) Constitution of India; (a) Code of Civil Procedure; (b) Code of Criminal Procedure; (c) Evidence Act; (d) Indian Penal Code; (e) Limitation Act; (f) Transfer of Property Act; (g) Contract Act; (h) Law of Succession (Indian Succession Act and Hindu Succession Act); (i) Specific Relief Act. 

Candidates who will secure not less than 35 per cent of marks in case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates and 40 per cent of marks in case of others in the Preliminary Written Examination will be called for the Main Written Examination.

The OPSC, through the OJS examination, will fill up 53 posts of civil judges including 17 women under the Law Department by direct recruitment in the pay scale of Rs 27,700-770-33090-920-40450-1080-44770 with usual Dearness and other allowances.
