OPSC invites applications for ACF, forest ranger posts under Odisha Forest Service; check vacancy and eligibility

The Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has released an advertisement for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Conservator of Forests, (Group-A) and Forest Ranger (Group-B) of the Odisha Forest Service under the Forest, Environment & Climate Change Department. 

The link for registration and submission of online application will be made available on the official website-www.opsc.gov.in from May 29, 2023. The last date for submission of application is June 29, 2023.

Assistant Conservator of Forests- 45 posts

Educational Qualification

A candidate must have possessed Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University or Institution in India with at least one of the following subjects namely, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry and Zoology or a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering or an equivalent qualification. 

Age

A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not be above the age of 38 years as on the 1st day of January, 2023 i.e. he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd January, 1985 and not later than 1st January, 2002. The upper age limit shall be relaxable for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per rules.

Method of Selection

The selection of candidates for recruitment to the posts will consist of Written Examination (1400 Marks), Physical test and Viva Voce Test (200 Marks).

Place of Examination 

The written examination will be held at Cuttack. It may also be held at Bhubaneswar/Balasore/Berhampur/Sambalpur depending on the number of candidates from the respective zones.

ACF- Rs 56100 in pay matrix-12, Cell-01 of ORSP Rule, 2017 
Forest Ranger- Rs 44900 in pay matrix-10 of ORSP Rule, 2017
