The Odisha government has given its nod to the creation of 247 posts in the state forensic science services organisation. The newly created posts shall carry usual pay, dearness allowance, and other allowances as sanctioned by the state government from time to time.
As per the official notification issued by the Home Department, 67 posts of junior forensic attendants, 21 senior forensic attendants. 71 scientific officers, 65 senior scientific officers, 20 assistant directors, 2 deputy directors, and 1 director post will be filled up.
The regular posts are created with the stipulation that the recruitment shall be made in a transparent manner following the relevant recruitment rules and provisions of the ORV Act as amended from time to time.
In another development, the Odisha Home Department has also approved the proposal of the State Police Headquarters for the procurement of 36 mobile forensic vans under the scheme of modernisation of forensic capabilities.
The official letter read that the procurement of 36 mobile forensic vans will be done from the National Forensic Sciences University subject to receipt of funds from the Government of India.
