Odisha Police Recruitment 2024
The State Selection Board (SSB) of Odisha Police has once again extended the last date to apply for the Sepoy/Constable recruitment examination, 2024.
The original application deadline was October 13, which was extended to October 30 due to the puja vacations. According to the latest notification, candidates can now apply until November 15.
The SSB announced that some candidates filed a petition in the High Court seeking relaxation of the upper age limit. Initially, the board stated that candidates could submit their forms between November 1 and 7. However, on October 28, the court ordered the application deadline to be extended until November 15.
All candidates can now submit their forms until November 15, according to the SSB.
The application correction window will be open from November 17 to 20.
Recently, the Odisha Police increased the number of vacancies for the Sepoy/Constable posts. The board reported the addition of 720 vacancies across various battalions, raising the total from 1,360 to 2,030.
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have successfully completed their Class 10 (Matriculation) examination from the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) Odisha or a recognized equivalent board.
Age Limit
Candidates must be aged between 18 and 23 as of January 1, 2024. Relaxation of the upper age limit will be granted according to Government of India guidelines.
Measurement of Physical Standards and Physical Efficiency Test
For UR/SEBC men: Height – 168 cm, Weight – 55 kg, Chest (expanded) – 84 cm, (unexpanded) – 79 cm
For SC/ST men: Height – 163 cm, Weight – 50 kg, Chest (expanded) – 81 cm, (unexpanded) – 76 cm
Driving Test
Candidates who pass the above tests will be eligible to take the driving test.
Medical Examination
A medical examination by a medical board may be conducted at any stage of the recruitment process.
Application Fee
Applicants from all categories are exempt from paying any intimation fee.
