The State Selection Board (SSB), Odisha Police has released an advertisement to fill up the vacant posts of constables (civil) in the 34 police districts and the Commissionerate Police in the State.

In an indicative advertisement, the police board has intended to fill up as many as 4790 posts of constables. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for the vacancies by visiting the official websites, i.e. www.odishapolice.gov.in and www.opssb.nic.in

As per the official notice, the websites will open for submission of applications on December 30, 2022 (9 am). The deadline to submit the application form is January 21, 2023 (11.59 pm). However, no manual application will be entertained. 

The official notification further stated that the written test in OMR mode is likely to be conducted in the month of February 2023. There is no examination fee for any candidate. 

“Interested candidates may access detailed advertisement giving eligibility criteria relating to age, educational qualification, district wise and category wise vacancy position, plan of examination, plan of Physical Standard Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test by visiting the official websites,” read the official notification.

“Candidates are advised to regularly visit these websites to get updates,” the notification added.

It can be mentioned here that the Odisha government on December 23 had issued an order to initiate the process to fill up the constable posts.

As per a release from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik has given his approval to fill up these posts in four stages with an aim to enhance the capacity of the existing police force in maintaining law and order.
