As many as 7039 aspirants will not be able to appear for the Odisha Civil Services (OCS), 2021 examination as their applications have been rejected by the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC). 

“Application of 7039 candidates (list enclosed) for recruitment to the post of Odisha Civil Services, 2021, pursuant to Advt. No. 25 of 2021-22, have been rejected by the Commission on the grounds as mentioned against each in the said list,” the Commission said in a notice dated July 11.

As per the notice, the applications of most of the candidates were rejected on ground of not furnishing address, qualification and physical measurement details. Similarly, many candidates have not paid examination fee and uploaded their photographs while filling up the online application form leading to the rejection.

Notably, the OPSC had published the notification for the Odisha Civil Services Examination-2021 on December 31, 2021 to fill up 405 posts and services coming under Odisha Civil Services (Group A and Group B). The vacancy was increased to 433 later. 

Online applications were invited from interested candidates from January 10, 2022 to February 18, 2022.  

The preliminary examination for Odisha Civil Services (OCS)-2021 will be conducted in September 2022 while the main written examination is scheduled to be held in January 2023. The viva voce for the OCS 2021 will be held in September/October 2023.viva-voce.
