In a good news for the civil service aspirants, the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) has revised the vacancy position and upper age limit for the Odisha Civil Services (OCS) examination 2021.  

The Odisha Public Service Commission will now fill up 433 vacancies including 142 reserved for women instead of 405 (132-women) notified earlier.

In the corrigendum/addendum published on Monday (January 24) in respect to the Odisha Civil Services, 2021, the Commission said, “In Para-2 in vacancy position 405 (132 women), it shall now be read as 433 (142 women).” 

Similarly, the Commission also announced enhancement of upper age limit for the candidates to 38 years from 32 years. 

“In Para-3 "Age Limit must not be above the age of 32 years as on 1st day of January 2021", shall be substituted with "  must not be above the age of 38 years as on 1st day of January 2021" and 2nd January 1989" is now shall be substituted with 2nd January 1983,” the notification read.  

According to the Commission, the upper age limit has been increased following enhancement of upper age limit as per Odisha Civil Service (Fixation of upper age Limit) Amendment Rules, 2022. 

Similarly, the vacancy position has been revised following inclusion of Odisha Excise Service, Group-B in the Odisha Civil Services (Combined Competitive Recruitment Examination) Amendment Rules, 2022. 

“The candidates who have submitted applications by giving their choice of posts in order of their preference can now exercise their order of preference afresh,” the notification added.

Moreover, the Commission said, “In the first para, for admission to Odisha Civil Services Preliminary examination in place of 2020, to be read as 2021.”

All other conditions of the advertisement shall remain unchanged, it added.   

Notably, the online submission of application for the OCS 2021 which commenced on January 10, 2022 is currently underway. The last date for submission of registered online application is February 18, 2022.

On the homepage, click on ‘Apply Online’
New users can click on ‘New User’ tab and registered ones on ‘registered user’ tab  
Read the instructions to fill up online application 
Login to the portal and fill up the form
Upload documents and pay the application fee
Download the form and take a printout for future reference
