The Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya Sangathan (OAVS) has allowed few job aspirants to apply for 1749 posts of Principal and other teaching and non-teaching staff through offline mode following the intervention of the Orissa High Court.

The proforma of the offline application form has been made available on the official website https://oav.edu.in/. Candidates who had sought judicial intervention and got the verdict in their favour now can submit the offline forms before the last date.

Though the deadline for the submission of the application was initially fixed to January 31, the last date was later revised to February 22, 2022.

According to sources, Mousumi Mahapatra and others who were underage as per the prescribed date in the recruitment advertisement published by the OAVS and hence ineligible to apply for the posts had filed a writ petition seeking the HC’s direction to allow them to submit their applications.

The official advertisement which was issued on December 28, 2021 had fixed conditions that a candidate must attain 21 years of age as on January 1, 2021 and must not be above 32 years.

The petitioners contended that they were underage, if the cutoff date is fixed to January 1, 2021 and if consideration is made from the date of advertisement, i.e., December 28, 2021, they are eligible to submit the application.

As an interim measure, the court directed the authorities to accept offline applications of the petitioners by the last date of its receipt, i.e., 31.01.2022 (now February 22), as they are eligible to make applications as per the release date of advertisement, i.e. 28.12.2021 and such acceptance of the applications shall abide by the result of the writ petition till 23.02.2022.
