The National Testing Agency (NTA) recently revealed that it has been assigned the task of conducting the recruitment examination for the position of "Examiner of Patents and Designs." 

This examination aims to fill 553 vacancies in the Patent Office under the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

As per a recent update on nta.ac.in, the agency has announced that the recruitment process will consist of three phases. The first phase involves a preliminary examination in computer-based test (CBT) mode, followed by mains paper 1 (CBT), mains paper 2 (offline exam in descriptive mode covering 14 different disciplines) and ultimately, offline interviews.

The exam city information slips for the preliminary examination are scheduled to be released on either December 12 or 13, with the issuance of admit cards occurring three to four days prior to the examination date. 

The preliminary examination is set to take place on December 21, as per the agency's notification.

The question papers and answer keys will be released, and candidates can submit objections from December 26 to 27. The results are anticipated to be declared in the first week of January 2024.

The schedule for the remaining phases will be intimated separately.
