The National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the scheme, syllabus, and guidelines for the upcoming Central Universities Recruitment Examination (non-teaching) scheduled for January 25. 

Candidates intending to participate in the CUREC examination can access the official NTA website for detailed information. 

The purpose of the exam is to fill various group B and C positions at several Central Universities, including the Central University of Himachal Pradesh in Dharamshala, Mahatma Gandhi Central University in Motihari, Central University of

Jharkhand in Ranchi, English & Foreign Languages University in Hyderabad, University of Hyderabad, and Central University of Punjab in Bathinda.

The tier 1 exam will comprise Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and will be structured into five sections:

  • Section 1: General Awareness (20 questions, 20 marks)

  • Section 2: Reasoning and General Intelligence (20 questions, 20 marks)

  • Section 3: Mathematical Abilities (20 questions, 20 marks)

  • Section 4: Computer Knowledge (20 questions, 20 marks)

  • Section 5: Hindi or English Language (20 questions, 20 marks)

“The question paper would be bilingual (English and Hindi) and the applicant will have the option to respond in either of the languages. However, the same medium of language must be used throughout,” read the notification.

The examination will feature questions commensurate with the degree/diploma level for Group B posts, and at the matriculation level for Group C posts, as specified. 

Additionally, in Paper 1, incorrect responses will incur a penalty, with negative marking set at 1/4th of the marks assigned to each question, as stated by the agency.
