The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has decided to come up with a dedicated internship program. The internship program has been designed for Indian students enrolled in disaster management courses across India and abroad.

Highlights

-At least 10 interns will be inducted every year.

-Internships shall be available throughout the year based on the requirements of the NDMA.

-The online application window will open from 1-10 of every month on the NDMA website.

-The interns will be engaged across divisions of NDMA.

-The scheme encourages female candidates, students from the weaker socioeconomic background, and from the north-eastern states to apply.

Duration

The duration of the internship shall be at least six to eight weeks and not exceeding two months. On successful completion, an experience certificate of internship shall be issued by the joint secretary/ advisor of the concerned subject division or member’s office. The interns are required to maintain minimum 90 per cent attendance during the internship.

Financial Aspect

The interns will be paid a remuneration of Rs 12,000 per month.

Essential Qualification

Enrolled in a postgraduate degree programme in disaster management or in an equivalent postgraduate degree program such as development studies, economics, humanities, sciences management, engineering, health studies etc.
