Metro Railway Kolkata has published an official notification for the recruitment of Apprentice.

Eligible and interested candidates can apply online through the official website at mtp.indianrailways.gov.in.

The registration process is likely to commence on December 23 and will end on January 22, 2025.

Total Vacancy: 128 posts

  • Fitter: 82 posts

  • Electrician: 28 posts

  • Machinist: 9 posts

  • Welder: 9 posts

Eligibility Criteria

A candidate for this post should have acquired the 10th standard (or equivalent qualification, wherever grading system is followed) at aggregate in the 10+2 examinations from a recognized Board by at least 50%. More importantly, the applicant ought to possess a National Trade Certificate in the notified trade in NCVT/ SCVT.

Minimum age of the aspirants must be 15 years and maximum age is 24 years

Recruitment Process

Selection for training slots in Metro Railway/Kolkata will be made strictly on the basis of merit list prepared for all eligible candidates who apply against the notification. The merit list will be strictly on the basis of information provided in the online application form.

It will take into consideration the average percentage marks obtained in both matriculation and ITI examinations, and both marks will have equal weightage.

Application Fee

The application fee is Rs 100. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwBD, as well as women, are exempt from this fee. 

Payment can be made using debit cards, credit cards, internet banking, and other methods.
