The mass layoffs by major tech giants like Meta and Twitter have come as a rude shock for many, impacting lives globally.

The job cut prompted by the fear of a possible recession has rendered many highly-paid IT professionals jobless in the blink of an eye.

Several news reports have emerged highlighting how some professionals received their layoff news quite unexpectedly.

A Meta employee Himanshu V, who recently moved from India to Canada, was laid off in the recent layoffs.

“I relocated to Canada to join #Meta and 2 days after joining, my journey came to an end as I am impacted by the massive layoff. My heart goes out to everyone facing a difficult situation right now,” he noted in the LinkedIn post.

Himanshu said that he is looking for software engineer roles in Canada and India. “Honestly, I have no idea! I'm looking forward to whatever comes next. Let me know if you know of any position or hiring for a software engineer (Canada or India),” Himanshu posted on  LinkedIn.

Indian-origin Anneka Patel, a communications manager with Meta, also narrated how she got the mail about her layoff at 5.35 am when she woke up to feed her child. “At 5:35am I got the email that I had been included in the layoffs. My heart sank,” she wrote in the post.

Amid the joblessness, Harsh Jain – CEO and co-founder of Dream Sports which comprises names like Dream 11, Fancode, Dream Capital, DreamSetGo and others, has extended a helping hand and invited Indian employees to join his company.

“With all the 2022 Tech layoffs (52,000+!) in the US, please spread the word to remind Indians to come back home (specially those with visa issues) to help Indian Tech realise our hyper-growth potential in the next decade!," Jain tweeted.

In another tweet, he wrote that Dream Sports are a profitable, $8 Billion Co with 150 Million+ users and 10 kickass portfolio companies. He urged those who lost jobs to feel free to reach out to the company on indiareturns@dreamsports.group.

He added that his company is constantly looking for great talent, specially with leadership experience in design, product and tech.
