ISRO-SAC announces vacancies for JRF, RA and PA, check details

The Space Applications Centre (SAC) Ahmedabad, one of the lead Centres of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), Department of Space (DOS), has issued an advertisement for the engagement of bright candidates with scientific aptitude to work as Junior Research Fellows (JRF), Research Associates (RA) and Project Associates.

The engagements will be in multi-disciplinary fields and project activities related to Natural Resources, Environment, Ocean, Atmosphere, Studies related to Planetary Sciences and Microelectronics/VLSI.

The on-line recruitment portal will be available from 0900 hours on 19/12/2022 to 1700 hours on 08/01/2023 for registration of application, the official advertisement read.

1. Junior Research Fellows (JRF)

Essential Qualifications with Subject Specialisation

M.Sc. or M.Tech in Geophysics or Applied Geophysics or Geology or Applied Geology: 9 posts M.Sc. in Physics or Mathematics: 9 posts

M.Sc. in Marine Biology or Marine Geophysics: 3 posts

M.Sc. or M.Tech. in Geoinformatics or Remote Sensing: 6 posts

2. Research Associates (RA)

Essential Qualifications with Subject Specialisation Ph.D. in Oceanography/Physical Oceanography or related discipline focussing on research related to Physical Oceanography with Master of Science in Oceanography /Meteorology / Physics / Mathematics / Applied Mathematics or related subjects: 2 posts

Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science or Meteorology or related discipline focussing on research related to Atmospheric Science with Master of Science in Meteorology / Physics / Mathematics / Applied Mathematics or related subjects: 2 posts

Ph.D. in Marine Science or related discipline focussing on research related to Marine Science with Master of Science in Marine Science or related subjects: 1 post

3. Project Associate – 1

Essential Qualifications with Subject Specialisation B.E./B.Tech in Electronics/Electrical or Master of Science in Electronics with First class with a minimum of 65% marks (aggregate of all semesters) or CGPA grading of 6.84 on a 10 Point scale: 1 post

The number of posts indicated above are provisional and may vary depending on the actual requirement.

Age Limit: Maximum Age limit is 28 years for Junior Research Fellows and 35 years for Research Associates and Project Associates-1, as on 08/01/2023, relaxable by 5 years in case of SC/ST and 3 years in case of OBC candidates.

Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-Servicemen candidates are eligible for age relaxation as per Government of India orders.

Emoluments & Other Benefits Fellowship amount (JRF): For 1st and 2nd year Rs 31000 per month + HRA. For the subsequent years Rs 35000 per month + HRA

Fellowship amount Research Associateship amount (RA):

Research Associate – 1: Rs 47000 per month + HRA

Research Associate – 2: Rs 49000 per month + HRA

Research Associate – 3: Rs 54000 per month + HRA Fellowship amount

Project Associateship amount (PA-1):

Project Associate –1 (DST INSPIRE) - Rs 31000 per month + HRA for NET/GATE qualified or selected through National level examinations conducted by Central Govt. Department and their Agencies and Institutions OR Rs 25000 + HRA Per month for who do not fall under as above.
