IOB recruitment
The Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has announced a recruitment drive for 400 vacancies for the post of Local Bank Officers (LBO) in Junior Management Grade Scale-I (JMGS-I). Eligible and interested candidates may apply online from May 12, 2025 to May 31, 2025 through the official website: www.iob.in. No other mode of application will be entertained.
The openings are distributed across six states with mandatory local language proficiency:

Applicants must possess a graduate degree in any discipline from a university recognised by the Government of India or possess an equivalent qualification acknowledged by the Central Government. Candidates must hold a valid marksheet or degree certificate at the time of registration and indicate the percentage obtained.
Candidates must be aged between 20 and 30 years as on May 1, 2025, i.e., they should have been born not earlier than May 2, 1995 and not later than May 1, 2005, both dates inclusive.
However, the age relaxation is varied across categories; 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer), and 10 years for persons with benchmark disabilities.
The application fee is Rs. 175 (including GST) for SC, ST, and PwBD candidates, and Rs. 850 (including GST) for candidates from the GEN, EWS, and OBC categories.
Selection will be made through an Online Examination, followed by a Language Proficiency Test (LPT) and Personal Interview. Candidates must qualify each stage to be considered for final selection.
The online examination will consist of 140 objective-type questions spread across four sections: Reasoning and Computer Aptitude (30 questions, 60 marks, 60 minutes), General/Economy/Banking Awareness (40 questions, 40 marks, 30 minutes), Data Analysis and Interpretation (30 questions, 60 marks, 60 minutes), and English Knowledge (40 questions, 40 marks, 30 minutes). There is a penalty of 0.25 marks for every incorrect answer, while no penalty applies to unanswered questions.
