The Indian Army seeks unmarried male and female candidates for Havildar, Naib Subedar roles under sports quota until Feb 28, 2025. Eligibility includes matriculation and notable sports achievements.

The Indian Army has issued a notification inviting applications from unmarried Indian male and female candidates for recruitment of Havildar and Naib Subedar posts under sports quota. 

Interested candidates can download the application form and apply it through post. The application process is valid till February 28, 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

Havildar: Candidates should possess a minimum educational qualification of matriculation. Sports achievements required include being a medalist at the junior or senior level by representing the state in national competitions or representing the country at the international level in individual events. Candidates should have represented a state or country in national or international competitions at the junior or senior level in team events, and should also be medalists in Khelo India Games, Khelo India Youth Games, or Khelo India University Games.

Naib Subedar: Candidates should also have a minimum educational qualification of matriculation. Required sports achievements include winning a medal in the World Championships, Asian Championships, Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, or the World Cup. Additionally, candidates should have represented India twice in the Asian Games, Commonwealth Games, or World Cup, or have participated in the Olympics.

The applicants will also have to fit into the required physical and medical standards as per the service norms. However, the physical standard is varied for candidates belonging to different areas and gender. The eligibility criterion is also applicable for women.

Age Limit

The age limit for enrollment for Havildar and Naib Subedar posts is from 17-and-half-year to 25 years. Candidates must have completed 17-and-half-year years on the first day of the enrollment period and must not exceed 25 years on the last day of the enrollment period. Eligible candidates are those born between March 31, 2000, and April 1, 2007 (both dates inclusive).

Selection Procedure

Candidates must undergo and qualify for the physical fitness test, physical standards test, and skill test. Additionally, aspirants will need to complete a medical examination at the trial site. Those who meet all these criteria will receive an offer letter.

Candidates are advised to print the application form on A4 size paper, following the prescribed format provided at the end of the advertisement. Non-standard application forms will be rejected. The completed application form must include the candidate's signature, thumb impression, and a photograph, along with copies of educational and sports achievement documents. These documents should be submitted to the official address of the Army Sports Control Board.
