Indian Air Force Recruitment: Big opportunity for outstanding sportsmen in Agniveervayu

Indian Air Force invites application of outstanding sportsmen for the recruitment of Agniveervayu.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should have passed intermediate/10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board with Physics, Mathematics and English as subjects scoring an aggregate of 50% and 50% in English. 

Or the candidate should have passed a Diploma in Engineering ((Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Automobile/ Computer Science/ Instrumentation Technology/ Information Technology) from a recognized institute with 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English, in case English was not a subject during intermediate.

Or the applicant should have passed two years Vocational course with non-vocational subject viz. Physics and Mathematics from a recognised institution with a minimum of 50% aggregate and 50% in English.

For non-Science candidates, they should possess an intermediate degree/10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised board with an aggregate of 50% and 50% marks in English.

Or the applicant should have passed Vocational course from recognised educational board with a minimum of 50% aggregate and 50% marks in English if it was not a subject in intermediate.

Age Limit

Candidates applying should be born between January 2, 2004 and July 2, 2007. In case of a candidate clearing all stages of selection process then the upper age limit as on date of enrolment should be 21 years.

Sports Achievement

Candidates should have represented the country in Junior/Senior International competitions recognized by International Olympics committee (IOA). 

Applicant should have achieved fifth place in the Junior National competitions, represented the State/Union Territory in Senior National competitions conducted by respective Sports Federations or All India Inter University competitions or SAI (Khelo India National).

In team events, the aspirant should have represented State in Junior/ Senior National competitions conducted by respective Sports Federations or All India Inter University Championship or SAI (Khelo India National).

Medical Standards

Height: The minimum height of the candidate should be 152 cm.

Weight: Proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.

Chest: The chest wall should be well proportioned and well developed. Minimum chest circumference should be 77 cms and the chest expansion should be at least 05 cms.

Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately.

Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points.

Visual Standards: 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6 each eye. However, Candidates with history of LASIK/PRK will not be accepted.
