Indian Air force has published an official notification for recruitment of outstanding sportsmen as Agniveervayu (Sports) Intake 01/2024 under Agnipath Scheme.

The application process has already commenced and the last date to submit the application form is February 22, 2024.

The recruitment trail is likely to begin from March 11 to March 13.

Age Limit

Individuals born between June 27, 2003, and December 27, 2006, both dates inclusive, are eligible to apply. If a candidate successfully passes all the stages of the selection trial, the maximum age limit at the time of enrollment should not exceed 21 years.

Educational Qualification

For those interested in Science subjects:

Candidates should have successfully completed their Intermediate/10+2 or equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics, and English from a recognized Education Board. The minimum requirement is 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks specifically in English. Alternatively, candidates can qualify through a three-year Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology, Information Technology) from a Government-recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the diploma course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in the Diploma Course). Another option is passing a two-year Vocational course with a non-vocational subject such as Physics and Mathematics from a recognized Education Board, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the vocational course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in the vocational course).

For those with subjects other than Science:

Applicants should have passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. Alternatively, candidates can qualify through a two-year vocational course from Education Boards recognized by Central, State, and UT, with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in the vocational course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in the Vocational Course).

Medical Standard

  • Height: Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cm

  • Weight: Proportionate to height and age

  • Chest: The chest wall should be well-proportioned with a minimum range of expansion of 5 cm

  • Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing, i.e., able to hear a forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately

  • Dental: Should have healthy gums, a good set of teeth, and a minimum of 14 dental points

  • Visual Acuity: 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6 each eye

  • Maximum limits of Refractive error: Hypermetropia: +2.0D, Myopia: 1D, Including ± 0.50 D Astigmatism, Colour Vision: CP-II
