In a major news for job aspirants, the Odisha government has decided to conduct written examinations of all the recruitment examinations as well as viva-voce test both in Odia and English languages. 

Retired IPS officer and chairman of the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) Abhay shared the information regarding the government’s decision through a tweet. He said candidates will now be given option of language (Odia/English) for the medium of examination.  

“We welcome Odisha Govt decision that all written and viva recruit exams will be in Odia as well English(except language paper). Candidates be given option of language (Odia/English) for medium of exam,” the OSSC chief said. 

“Once these are Gazetted, OSSC will provide this option in all new applications,” he added.

Earlier, the State government brought in a major reform in the Odisha Civil Services (OCS) examination by allowing candidates to write the examination paper in their mother tongue. 

As per the decision of the State government, the preliminary, main and interview of the State Civil Services Examination will now be conducted in both in English and Odia.
